Otávio, a happy man who likes to live isolated with the animals on his farm in Mato Grosso do Sul, who got rich taking care of the cattle and improving his breeding technique, suddenly finds himself faced with a family tragedy that drives him to despair. Unable to bear the weight of the disappearance of his wife and child, he goes into a deep depression and no longer sees conditions to continue living. A doctor manages to prevent him from committing suicide and tries to bring him back to life. Some time later, the doctor receives a secret, unsigned message, which promises to clarify the fate of Otávio's wife and child. The sender makes an appointment on a cruise ship. Fearing this is fatal news, the doctor reveals nothing to Otávio, but convinces him to make the trip, stating that the cruise could be the rebirth of the suicide.
