It all starts at Lar do Monte, an orphanage for children who have lost their parents. The owners of the orphanage are the terrible Julia de Mont and her husband, Pierre de Mont. Despite having no love for the children who live there, nor knowing their names, Júlia and Pierre only maintain the home, due to the state subsidy that should be spent on restoration works, clothing and health care for the children, but instead, it is wasted on hairdressers, perfumes and trips to Julia and Pierre. This couple of villains has two children, who inherited the gift of evil: Marcel de Mont, smarter than his father and always ready to do business, and Alice de Mont, a true expert when it comes to manipulating people.
