A group of operatives of the Moscow criminal investigation Department, led by investigator Alla Shatrova, specializes in investigating "dead cases" - crimes that for various reasons have not been solved by the police for many years. Every time there are new facts, new witnesses, Alla Sharova and her colleagues use every opportunity to reproduce and analyze the events of crimes committed many years ago. The investigation team works out old and new versions, piece by piece reconstructs the course of events, goes to the suspects and forces them to make a confession under the weight of evidence.
