Mehr Making her radio debut, Gladys becomes friendly with Kate, a pop singer turned DJ, whose ex-husband, Napley, is currently promoting a faith healer, Merritt, who believes he is receiving songs dictated from the spirit world by John Lennon. A record producer is interested but demands 'authentication' and Napley consults Gladys, who checks out Merritt and believes him to be sincere, if not genuine. Trevor also asks Eavis for his opinion of Merritt, and he and Cecile attend a recording session at which Kate sings the new 'Lennon' songs. Gladys's horoscope for Merritt predicts violent death, but when Trevor goes to warn him he finds the man already dead. Napley, the prime suspect in the killing, vanishes, but Trevor and Kate drive out to Dungeness and find him beaten up by money-lenders he has welched on, while Eavis's men are able to locate and apprehend the real killer.
