Every village in Bohemia has a fire station. So does the village of Horní. The volunteer fire brigade is led by the peculiar Petr Pospíšil (Petr Rychlý). He's a bit of a hothead and doesn't mince words. But he is a fair guy who leads his corps with an old-world sense of responsibility, and the village likes him for that. Except for the calculating mayor Vladimír Urban (Václav Kopta). He tries to use the firefighters to siphon off money from the municipal budget and Petr's honesty does not suit him at all. Therefore, the mayor tries to get rid of Petr and his firefighting unit in every possible way. The duel between Peter and the mayor is the central motif of a new Czech series full of characterful characters from the picturesque Lada region.
