1895 St. Petersburg. Anastasia Ardashnikova, one of the first women to receive a law degree from the Sorbonne, is returning from France to her homeland. Anastasia has a wide knowledge of advanced, practically unknown in Russia, methods of investigation and is full of hopes of becoming a forensic scientist.
