Más Ena (Nagasawa Masami) becomes increasingly impatient and determined to prove the false conviction of Yoshio Matsumoto (Kataoka Shojiro), a death row inmate, as soon as possible. Meanwhile, her lawyer Kimura (Seiji Rokkaku) introduces her to newspaper reporter Mayumi Sasaoka (Shoko Ikezu), who has access to the newspaper's holdings of the case at the time. Ena immediately tries to speak to the detective who actually conducted the interrogation 12 years ago, but he has already retired and his whereabouts are unknown. However, Takuro (Maeda Go Atsushi) unexpectedly locates him and Ena interviews former police inspector Mamoru Yamashita, who is said to have extracted Matsumoto's confession. Seeing Yamashita's somewhat brusque replies to her pointed questions, Ena begins to harbour suspicions about the interrogation at the time. When she edits the footage with Takuro, Saito (Suzuki Ryohei) is watching through the door of the editing room...
