Más Bob and the team are completing the second stage of a bridge over the river, to be finished for Spring City's Quarter Marathon. They are building a bridge deck and spar that will be connected by supporting cables. In the midst of the day's work, Scoop catches a fish in his bucket and, panicking, causes Lofty to reverse suddenly. Lofty's back end dangles off the edge of the partly constructed bridge, and Bob reels Lofty in by using his own hook and winch. The bridge is finished in time and is officially opened by the unexpected marathon winner: Mr. Bentley.
