Jingo apparently kills Shintarō in a duel and captures and tortures Tonbei. Oko gives Jingo poisoned sake as he has done what she wanted and she has no more need of him. However, he doesn't really drink it and kills her. Shintarō, disguised as one of the Negoro sent out to make sure he is really dead, duels with Jingo and kills him while Tonbei kills Onime.
