While university is the key to the mother and daughter's dreams for the future, Feriha's twin Mehmet, who never went beyond elementary school, and her father Rıza, a fatalistic man by nature, do not feel the same excitement. While Mehmet is secretly jealous of Feriha, he is also aware of his twin's ambitions and longing for the glamorous life 'upstairs'.
