Isobel then comes into the office to ask permission to but a new door handle for the kitchen cupboard. Seeing that Simon is preoccupied, she asks to have a new kitchen. He absent-mindedly agrees. Samantha telephones the school for her results and is amazed. Derek plucks up the courage to tell Simon about the missing finances. He is unconcerned. Derek them makes Liz shout at him because he deserves it. Later, by chance, he finds the money, and tells Liz she owes him an apology. Simon then returns home to hear Samantha's news that she passed all her exams. Simon does not seem interested. Later Simon receives a call from Nell and returns much happier.
