She finds out that Barnabas told her to leave and tells Josette she is leaving too. Natalie tells Abagail to say goodbye to the family, and Abigail is dismayed because Natalie and Josette are two key people in the case against Victoria Winters and will not be able to go against her. Barnanbas says goodbye to Josette with a kiss and gives her the music box, incinuating that Angelique will soon die. Angelique finds out from Abigail that Josette has left town. Also, Angelique tells Abagail that Barnabas had insisted on hanging the portrait on the wall. Angelique confronts Barnabas. She shows what she can do to Josette by making the portrait of Josette show her as a skeleton. Angelique threatens to kill Sarah by using voodoo. Barnabas gets angry and shoots Angelique with a gun in the shoulder. Angelique falls to the floor, mortally wounded. Barnabas takes out the pin in Sarah's doll that Angelique had already put in. An
