When Gene and Pat bring them in, a lady sheriff rides up, mistaking Gene and Pat for the outlaws, and takes them in. Afterwards, Sheriff Kathy and her brother, Horace ride off the inform the authorities of the arrest, meanwhile, Gene suspects a smart aleck, Dodge Hartman of being in cahoots with the outlaws. Kathy leanrs of Gene and Pat being marshals, and lets them go to find the real outlaws. Gene goes undecover as an entertainer for a saloon, when Pat recognizes the outlaws' horses, and leaves to get Kathy. The outlaws find Gene in the saloon, and after they get into a fight, Gene is captured, but Pat and Kathy ride to the rescue, and the real outlaws are behind bars.
