Juli comes to live with relatives who, however, treat him so badly that he cannot stand it for long. He runs away. Max also runs away from home and hitchhikes to Berlin, where he finds shelter in a junkyard. July, on the other hand, escapes into the trunk of a car intended for scrapping. At the last minute, Max manages to save the dog from the tin press.
