Kitaro begins to investigate the string of incidents. Just then, Mana gets caught up in the masked youkai's attack. Kitaro races in and manages to save Mana, but the other young people are kidnapped. Upon investigating the cell phones left behind at the scene, Cat-girl discovers that each of the victims has a picture of a certain camphor tree. Kitaro and the others head to the tree, but it's already been cut down. They hear a story from an old man named Kawaji. He says that the youkai is the guardian spirit of the camphor tree and the young people are getting what they deserve. Who is the masked youkai and what is he after...?!
