It’s finally revealed that Himokura has been suffering a type of hallucination called phantom limb pain in which his brain feels pain for his right arm even though he doesn’t have a right arm anymore. Takaie, being a doctor who hates to see anyone suffer, tries to get him help but nothing works. Makino and Takaie decides to approach his old boss at CDC to see if they can figure out what happened 5 years ago. This man starts recounting the tale of Himokura and Iriya in a remote island in Philippines.
