In the year 20XX, a gigantic meteorite is on a path to destroy the planet within 6 months. Japan struggles to maintain order with its impending doom. The Kadokura family lives in Setagaya, Tokyo. Kumiko Kadokura (Michiko Hada) is an ordinary wife, but she suddenly informs her family that she loves someone else and wants to spend her final moments with him. She then leaves their family home. Her family, including her husband Kazuhiko (Hiroyuki Amano), are confused by her action. The rest of the family have their own secrets.
