Having dealt with dead rats in her café and numerous anonymous calls, she is now plagued by unbearable pain. Even the slightest touch sends it stabbing through her body. The next anonymous call is too much for her: the young woman runs out into the street – and dies. In the postmortem everything points to a sudden heart attack without any suspicious circumstances. But Detectives Gorniak and Winkler are skeptical. That a 29-year-old, otherwise healthy woman, would simply die like this is suspicious enough for them. Detective Karin has also been recently dealing with inexplicable pain – and she too is now receiving odd messages from a stranger. Could Anna have been poisoned? Karin confides in her colleague Leonie – together they convince their boss, Schnabel to allow them to continue their homicide investigation.
