Di più This is the story of Gautam and Ahalya, a lower caste couple who live in the small village of Shahabpur in northern Uttar Pradesh. Dealing with the abject poverty that comes with a lower caste life, Gautam and Ahalya work hard to provide for their family. However, Ahalya is repeatedly raped by some of the upper caste men in the village, who consider lower caste bodies as their own property. One day, Gautam ends up murdering his wife's rapists and the family flees to Delhi to escape the village's wrath.
