The famed beauty Xi Shi was discovered by Yue statesman Fan Li, and sent into Fuchai’s palace as a spy along with Zheng Dan. According to legend, the two women were instrumental in the downfall of the arrogant Fuchai and the restoration of Goujian to the throne.
