However, Simon is not left in peace to watch the film, as Derek arrives at the house, having been sent out for the evening by his wife. Derek insists on taking Simon out for a drink at a dreary local pub to discuss his problems, and how he intends to take up golf. Samantha decides to try to bring Simon together again with his former girlfriend, Lynn, whose son Hugo became Samantha's boyfriend.
