Tom reads it and finds out that he inherited one million dollars by one of his uncles! He cheers in happiness, until Jerry reads it, and points out one detail that Tom missed. Tom can't harm any living thing - not even a mouse! Jerry rejoices the inheritance because since Tom is not allowed to hurt any living thing, it means he can get away with doing anything he wants without Tom fighting back. Jerry proceeds to torture Tom by taking advantage of his new life, sleeping in his bed and eating all of his food. Finally, after Tom loses his breakfast and gets a pad of butter in the eye, he loses it and begins to beat up Jerry. He then says, "Gee, I'm throwing away a million dollars... BUT I'M HAPPY!!"
