Barnabas makes plans to keep his promise and let Josette know that he has returned from the dead. On his way back to the family mausoleum, Sarah sees Barnabas and eagerly runs after him, only to find that he has disappeared inside the crypt. Saddened to have missed him, Sarah turns to leave the mausoleum but finds herself locked inside.
