Barnabas and Julia meet Roger and ask him to show them the portrait. Roger finds that the picture of Angelique has faded. A gloved hand is suddenly seen knocking on the front door. Barnabas opens it and sees a well dressed gentleman. He tells Barnabas that he must be Cassandra's husband. Barnabas says no just as Roger shows up. He greets Roger and introduces himself as Nicholas Blair, Cassandra's brother.
