Young David Kelly and his pet rabbits are at the centre of a feud between the boys father, Bruce Kelly, and their neighbour Ray Hall over Ray's dogs' aggressiveness towards David's rabbits. Hugo spikes a handful of eggs with cayenne pepper as part of a trap to catch the person responsible for stealing eggs from Lucys hens, but unfortunately one of Ray Halls dogs takes the bait resulting in Hugo receiving a stern lecture from Matt. Davids favourite rabbit is mauled by one of Ray's dogs.
