Originally brewed to a lower alcohol level to quench the thirst of hard-working men fresh from their shift in the local factories, bitter beers have been brewed in England for at least 600 years. The traditions continue in modern-day Manchester - a vibrant, raucous city where good music and good times are as easy to find as the corner pub.
