The baker family Laible has been running a small business in the dreamy Swabian town of Schafferdingen on the edge of the Swabian Alb for generations. Life could be so beautiful, but when the large industrial baker Frisch moves in and opens a shop with cheap baked goods right next to the long-established traditional bakery, everything changes: a feud breaks out between the family of the traditional bakery Laible and the manager of the modern bakery Manfred Frisch while the children of the warring parties fall in love! But that should not be the only conflict in the fight between David and Goliath at the foot of the Alb.
