She discovers the medieval Christian carvings in the walls of Carlisle Castle and joins archaeologist Dr Humphrey Welfare, whose own parish church is built from the stone of Hadrian’s Wall. Claire also visits the restored St Aidan’s Church, which in 2015 was devastated by major floods in Carlisle. Radzi Chinyanganya meets the Rev. Matt Martinson, a former armed robber whose life was transformed by Christianity. He is now a Church of England vicar with a parish in Carlisle and regularly shares his faith on the streets. And married medic couple Thomas and Hannah explain their faith-led decision to work in the hospitals of Thomas’s homeland, Sierra Leone.
