A rusty old barge named after a civil war hero, the Eugene Runda, or simply the "E.Runda", goes to Benjamin Schneerson for debts. Seeing his new "snow-white ship", Venya decides to send it for scrap. On Board the barge, the crew gathers: chief assistant Gromov, chief mechanic, cook Raya, sailors, assistant chief engineer Skiba. The team only needs a captain. By chance, a young man Oleg gets to the port, and Venya offers him to lead the crew. Oleg, finding himself in a hopeless situation, agrees.
