A farewell letter to Viktoria suggests his suicide. When she finds an unknown dead man in the basement of Fryderyk's house, the family affair develops into a criminal case. What for the village doctor Dr. Baronowski looks after an accident, Viktoria appears suspicious. She realizes that the body of Antoni Trudzinski, an unscrupulous investor, has been expertly tampered with to conceal the time and cause of death!
