Giovanni and Chiara have been together for years. Their relationship is now worn out but it seems that only she notices. Chiara wants more and she has decided to leave her husband with a letter, which she writes and rewrites but which she then decides to throw away. She then packs her bags and leaves home. Unaware of everything, Giovanni is preparing a birthday party to surprise her: on that very day, in fact, Chiara turns 40 years old. While waiting for the birthday girl, the letter is found by chance in a basket. Poor Giovanni thus learns the intentions of his wife and feeling alone and abandoned he begins to think about what went wrong in his life, but above all about how to get his wife back.
