Ena (Nagasawa Masami) sees a slight possibility in the words of Takuro (Maeda Go Atsushi), who had accused Yoshio Matsumoto (Kataoka Shojiro) of being falsely convicted of the death penalty, and reconsiders the case on her own. She then feels uncomfortable with certain claims made by the prosecution. Meanwhile, Takuro realises the gravity of the situation and withdraws from the case, but when he learns that Ena has started working on it in earnest, he offers to help. Just then, he receives a letter addressed to Ena from Matsumoto, who had requested a meeting with him through his lawyer Taku Kimura (Seiji Rokkaku). She also receives a phone call from an unexpected person...
