Mais Darla has had her tonsils taken out, so the gang decides to visit her in the hospital, bringing along a bunch of goodies that they know she won't be able to eat. Alfalfa meets up with a boy who offers him a dime if he'll switch clothes with him and take his place in the hospital room. Of course, Alfalfa does, and soon finds out he's about to be operated on. Some laughing gas saves the day, as the orderlies fall under its spell, as does Alfalfa, who the gang soon finds out is not quite himself.
