Mais Quincy rushes to an Arizona Native American reservation when he hears that his foster son, Chester, is suffering from bubonic plague. When he confirms this and tries to warn the local authorities he finds that they have no interest in the potential disaster. They are much more concerned with the forthcoming opening of a new country club that will bring tourists to the area. They have a big golf competition planned with many big names arriving and they don't want to cause a panic that would ruin the resort before it has even opened.
