Mais Joe Crowley and Charlotte Smith head to the Wash in Norfolk to see one of the greatest wildlife events in the UK, the Snettisham Spectacular. During the highest high tides, thousands of wading birds take to the air as this incoming tide forces them from their feeding spot on the mudflats. We build up to this great spectacle and explore what the start of autumn means to the people and wildlife of this unique landscape. Joe gets stuck into the mud to understand why so many birds come to this area and also encounters another winged creature at a nearby church, where they are having problems with bats in the belfry. Charlotte joins the RSPB and gets her binoculars out to go birdwatching to see the many different species that flock to this incredible stretch of coast, including the knot. Tom investigates why over a hundred horses were killed last year in jump racing, and how the sport plans to overhaul its safety.
