Mais Newly escaped from prison, the Daltons bump into Brad Alimony, a lawyer from the East Coast. This erudite fellow has a fail-proof plan to keep the four cronies out of jail. He can have every one of their sentences annulled… providing they pay. Questionable methods, but a legal method to clear the Daltons. Joe is reluctant to pay the lawyer's fees, but can't see any other way around it. So the Dalton's find that for once, they've got the Law on their side. Lucky Luke - on their trail yet again - ends up being accused and sentenced for harassment. Thankfully our hero knows a few loop-holes himself… legal ones of course!
