His former colleague, policeman Rýdl, murdered his wife and escaped from prison. When Vondracek arrested him, his colleague vowed revenge. But for what? Rumors that he was having an affair with his wife at the time? Vondracek's trying to put himself in the mind of a fugitive. Does he only want revenge on him, or is Rýdel's sister-in-law and her young daughter in danger? The fugitive seems to hold all the cards. He lures Vondráček to the wrong place, takes his sister-in-law hostage and goes after her daughter. It's a race against time for the investigative team.
