Her son, Ken, is worried about her and has started going back and forth between her place and his father’s, which makes An feel sad. Meanwhile, Mari’s husband, Shigeki, becomes embroiled in a scandal involving the embezzlement of political funds and is disciplined by the bar association. His clients desert him, but he remains defiant despite losing everything, and Mari takes a part-time job in a bento shop to make ends meet. And Yuko is still slogging away at her company’s sales office in Chiba, trying to drum up new clients. Though her hard work is slowly paying off, the future looks uncertain. One day, she goes to Tokyo for a meeting at company headquarters and finds Go waiting for her when she leaves.
